ITINERARY

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your Afrimine Tours safari guide. After a short meet-and-greet, you will be transferred to Moshi, a charming town located at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.

The drive offers your first impressions of rural Tanzania, with coffee plantations, local villages, and views of Africa’s highest mountain (weather permitting). Upon arrival at your mountain lodge, you can relax, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and recover from your international journey.

Today is a relaxed rest day to help you adjust to the time zone and climate before heading into the safari circuit. You may enjoy the lodge facilities, short walks, or simply relax with views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

In the afternoon, your professional safari guide will conduct a detailed safari briefing, explaining the upcoming route, wildlife expectations, safety guidelines, and safari etiquette. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions and personalize certain aspects of your journey.

After breakfast, you will depart Moshi and drive towards Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated wildlife destinations. The journey takes you through scenic landscapes and local villages.

Upon entering Tarangire, enjoy an afternoon game drive, exploring the park’s iconic baobab trees, seasonal river, and vast savannah. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, as well as lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and a wide variety of bird species.
