Today, your journey takes you to the magnificent Tarangire National Park – a vast and wildlife-rich sanctuary. This park is especially famous for its large elephant population, offering unforgettable close-up encounters in their natural habitat.
The Tarangire River, which gives the park its name, winds its way from north to south, creating a striking landscape that shifts with the seasons. During the rainy season, the southern part of the park bursts into lush, green life, while the north is dotted with iconic baobab trees, some centuries old.
These ancient baobabs aren’t just spectacular to look at – they once served as hiding places for hunters, and today, they offer shade and shelter for wildlife, including lions who often rest inside their hollow trunks.
Today, you’re off to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. As you approach, the landscape unfurls before you – a stunning backdrop of rolling hills, extinct volcanoes, and ancient forests that evoke a sense of timelessness.
The Serengeti is famous for its Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebra traverse the vast plains, creating one of the most extraordinary wildlife spectacles on Earth. Whether it’s the endless plains of the Serengeti or the lush edges of Ngorongoro, this park is the pulse of East Africa’s wildlife drama.
Your first glimpse into this wild paradise will be from the Nabi Gate, where the sprawling landscape of the Serengeti opens up in front of you – a truly unforgettable first impression.
Rise and shine for an early morning drive through the plains of Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most unique and breathtaking wildlife sanctuaries. You’ll descend into the crater floor, where the rich variety of wildlife is nothing short of spectacular.
On your game drive, keep your eyes peeled for hyenas, hippos, giraffes, zebras, and even the majestic rhinos that roam this fertile landscape. Impalas and other antelopes are also often seen grazing peacefully against the backdrop of the stunning crater walls.
This is truly a place where nature reveals its beauty and raw power in one unforgettable morning.
Head south on a scenic and well-built road from Karatu. On the way, you can make a stop at the Kondoa Rock Paintings – a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring cave paintings believed to be over 50.000 years old.
From Dodoma, the journey continues southward toward Ruaha National Park. Along the way, stop in Iringa to explore the Isimila Stone Age Site, an extraordinary archaeological location where towering stone pillars rise up to 30 metres into the sky, offering a glimpse into early human history.
Today, you will embark on an extended game drive through Ruaha National Park. The landscape is defined by the 160-kilometre-long Ruaha River, a vital lifeline for a variety of wildlife including crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and the majestic greater kudu — a species not commonly found in other national parks.
Rise and shine – as we set out on morning and afternoon game drives in search of predators including lions, leopards, cheetahs and the increasingly rare African wild dog. Visit the Great Ruaha River often swarming with huge crocodile and grunting hippos competing for space. The park is a great place to visit year-round due to its excellent all-weather road network – with a particularly stunning green season that welcomes thousands of migrating birds
Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a stunning destination well-known for its unique biodiversity and picturesque landscapes. As you embark on your hike, expect to traverse lush forests, rolling hills, and stunning vistas. The park is part of the Eastern Arc Mountains, recognized for their high levels of endemic species, including numerous plants, birds, and other wildlife that can’t be found anywhere else in the world.
Keep an eye out for rare species such as the Udzungwa red colobus monkey and various endemic birds like the Ashy-faced Owl and the Udzungwa forest partridge. The park offers breathtaking views from various hiking trails. Interacting with local communities, especially the Wameru and other tribes living in the foothills of the mountains, can provide insight into the region’s cultural heritage.
Your journey through Udzungwa Mountains National Park promises to be an unforgettable experience filled with natural beauty, unique wildlife, and the peaceful solitude of nature. Enjoy your hike!
In the morning, we head to the most impressive waterfall in Tanzania, from the top of which you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Kilombero Valley.
Today, your journey takes you to Mikumi National Park, where a rich variety of wildlife awaits. Giraffes, zebras, and baboons roam the open plains, while hippos frolic in waterholes and crocodiles lurk patiently along the riverbanks. Towering elephants find shade beneath tamarind trees, and sharp-eyed visitors may spot buffaloes, antelopes, and even elusive lions and leopards among the park’s diverse inhabitants.
Today, the journey continues through the scenic Morogoro region and the lush Uluguru Mountains, passing through Chalinze – an important trading center – before arriving in the bustling coastal city of Dar es Salaam.
