Welcome to Tanzania! Karibu sana!
We will pick you up from Kilimanjaro Airport and take you directly to Moshi. Your accommodation is located directly on the slopes of Kilimanjaro. Agriculture is practised on the fertile soil at the foot of Kilimanjaro. The climate guarantees a plentiful supply of fruit and vegetables, which are sold in vibrant markets throughout. You will see Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru from here. This is the first stop on your trip to Tanzania.
Our ‘Chagga Day‘ on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro is a rich cultural and sensory experience, combining nature, tradition, and coffee! Enjoy a guided walk through lush coffee plantation and a coffee-making session with local farmers, short hike to nearby waterfalls, look out for chameleons and enjoy local lunch.
Welcome to Your Afrimine Adventure! Today marks the beginning of your unforgettable journey with us. You’ll be transferred to the heart of Maasai land, where you’ll spend 2 days at a traditional Maasai Lodge, diving deep into the rich culture and heritage of one of Tanzania’s most iconic communities. You’ll have the chance to take part in a variety of captivating cultural experiences, including sunset dances, Maasai storytelling, spear throwing, medicinal plant discovery tour, permaculture farm tour.
Witness the striking pink hues of flamingos gracing the shores of Lake Natron. This unique lake is a vital breeding ground for these elegant birds, thanks to microorganisms that flourish in its highly alkaline waters, providing an abundant food source.
Lake Natron is not only a haven for wildlife, but also a site of ancient human history. Researchers have discovered a remarkably well-preserved human footprint embedded in the mud, estimated to be between 5.000 and 19.000 years old – offering a fascinating glimpse into the distant past.
Complete your journey with a refreshing hike to the Ngare Sero Waterfalls.
Experience the awe-inspiring sight of vast herds of wildebeest and zebra braving the Mara River, all while evading the jaws of giant crocodiles. This is part of the Great Migration – nature’s greatest show – as over 2.5 million wildebeest follow ancient rhythms and natural instincts in search of water and grazing, moving in a clockwise path that spans more than 2.500 kilometer annually.
The North Serengeti is one of the best places to witness this incredible journey. It teems with wildlife, including the iconic ‘Big Five,’ offering an unforgettable safari experience in the heart of Africa’s untamed wilderness.
Serengeti shall never die!
Central Serengeti is one of the best areas in Tanzania for wildlife viewing year-round. The landscape is a mix of open grasslands, scattered acacia trees, and granite outcrops known as kopjes, which attract a wide variety of animals.
This region is especially known for large prides of lions, and it’s also a great place to see cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and giraffes. You’ll likely encounter hippos in the rivers and pools, and there’s also an impressive variety of birdlife.
Whether you’re on a game drive at sunrise or watching the plains during the heat of the day, Central Serengeti offers consistent opportunities to see some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife in their natural environment.
Today, we will set off on our final game drive in the Serengeti en route to the next highlight of your trip: the Ngorongoro Crater, also known as the Garden of Eden. Formed around three million years ago when a volcano collapsed, the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest volcanic caldera and is home to over 25.000 resident animals, making it a unique ecosystem. You can spot almost every animal in the East African savannah in the grass steppes and acacia forest, including the African ‘Big Five’.
You will be surprised by the breathtaking beauty of the Ngorongoro Highlands. When you reach the Empakai rim, you will descend to the crater floor, where you can see flocks of migratory flamingos and other birds. The descent takes 45 minutes to an hour, and the ascent is equally thrilling, although demanding. Wear sturdy hiking shoes to conquer this awe-inspiring adventure!
Early in the morning, we start our drive from Karatu, picturesquely situated in the Ngorongoro Highlands, towards Tarangire National Park. During the drive, we enjoy the changing landscapes and prepare ourselves for an unforgettable safari experience. Once in Tarangire National Park, we begin with an extended game drive, during which we can observe the impressive babobabs to the huge herds of elephants.
At the end of the day, we move into our accommodation in a comfortable tented lodge, idyllically situated in the heart of the park. Here we can enjoy the tranquillity of the wilderness and get in the mood for the last night on safari.
The day begins early in the morning with a guided nature walk, accompanied by an experienced and armed ranger. During the hike through Tarangire National Park, you experience the fascinating natural surroundings. Without the hum of a vehicle, you can discover the small details of the bush: the rustling of the leaves, the tracks of animals in the ground and the many bird calls above you.
The ranger will guide you safely through the area and explain the flora, tracking and behaviour of the animals up close. With a bit of luck, you will be able to observe wild animals such as antelopes, warthogs or even elephants from a safe distance.
After the nature walk, you take a leisurely drive out of the park towards Arusha. The safari ends here, but the memories of these unique experiences will stay with you forever.
