4 Days - Safari from Zanzibar - Impressive Tanzania

TARANGIRE NATIONALPARK - NGORONGORO KRATER - SERENGETI NDUTU

Highlights

Welcome to a very special safari in Tanzania – an unforgettable adventure that takes you into the fascinating world of the African savannah.

Witness the majestic calving season of Ndutu in the southern Serengeti. This is a spectacular spectacle of nature’s regeneration, with huge herds of wildebeest, zebra and other animals gathering to give birth.
Watch as wildebeest mothers bring new life into the world and nurture their tender calves in this nutrient-rich environment. It is a time of fragility and resilience as the newborns take their first steps, always under the watchful eyes of predators such as lions, hyenas, leopards and cheetahs.
This safari offers you the opportunity to experience the complex cycle of life up close in one of the most pristine places in the African wilderness.
Our carefully prepared safari takes you through Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater and finally to Ndutu and offers you an incredible spectacle! Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will have unforgettable experiences and gain a deep understanding of the importance of conserving these unique ecosystems.

Best time for Calving Season: Mid January – Mid March

♦♦♦ We also offer this safari as a 4-day safari with pick-up from Kilimanjaro airport and also outside the Calving Season

ITINERARY

Karibuni sana! Welcome to Tanzania!
In the morning you fly from Zanzibar (approx. 8 a.m., flight time approx. 60 minutes) to Arusha airport on the mainland and can already enjoy fascinating views of the spectacular landscapes of Tanzania during the flight. Perhaps you will also discover Mount Kilimanjaro with its snow-capped Uhuru peak.
We will be waiting for you at the airport exit when you arrive. After a short briefing with your safari guide, your 3-day safari through the national parks of northern Tanzania begins.
Your first destination is Tarangire National Park (approx. 2 hours’ drive), which is known for its herds of elephants and giant baobabs. Here you will go on an extended game drive.
The Tarangire River, which carries water all year round, attracts countless animals and offers marvellous game viewing opportunities. The park has one of the highest elephant densities in Tanzania, herds of more than 30 animals are not uncommon.
Over 100 mammal species live in the Tarangire, including giraffe, impala, lion, Cape buffalo, zebra, hartebeest, eland, dik-dik and kudu, as well as over 500 bird species, including the largest bird in the world, the Maasai ostrich.
Mighty baobabs and magnificent umbrella acacias form a unique backdrop for an exciting day on safari.
Look forward to a real bush feeling!
We have lunch, consisting of a packed picnic lunch, in the middle of nature. We leave the park in the afternoon and drive to Karatu.
After arriving at the lodge, you will have time to freshen up before ending the day with dinner under the stars and a good night’s sleep.

Accommodation: Tented Lodge
Meals: 1x picnic packed lunch, 1x dinner

A safari vehicle takes you on an exploration tour of the famous Ngorongoro Crater. (The journey from Karatu takes approx. 40 minutes)
First enjoy the fantastic view from the crater rim over the huge caldera from a vantage point before descending a steep track to the crater floor.
The Ngorongoro Crater is a unique wildlife paradise and is one of the seven natural wonders of Africa.
On a safari here, you can observe almost all of Africa’s most important animals in just a few hours. In addition to lions, wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, elephants and gazelles, there is also a good chance of spotting the rare black rhino. The crater itself is home to over 20,000 large animals, which can leave or enter the crater freely. However, most of them stay here permanently as there is no shortage of water or food. A true natural wonder that can only be found in Africa.
In the afternoon we set off for our next destination, the Ndutu Plain. As the sun sets, you will be driven to a tented camp where you will dine under the stars and fall asleep to the sounds of the African wilderness.

Accommodation: Tented Camp – Ndutu
Meals: 1x breakfast, 1x picnic packed lunch, 1x dinner

Today enjoy a full day game drive in the exciting Ndutu Plains / Southern Serengeti, witnessing newborn wildebeest calves take their first steps, constantly under the watchful eyes of prowling predators.
A safari in the Serengeti is one of the most untamed wilderness experiences in Africa. The Serengeti has become famous for the “Great Migration”, the seasonal migration of the animal herds – the largest animal show on earth! In search of water and grazing land, millions of wildebeest, zebra and various gazelles cross the entire Serengeti from the south northwards to the Masai Mara and back again in a seasonal cycle. The herds instinctively follow the rain and are on a never-ending journey.
In the afternoon we drive to your lodge. At the end of the day, enjoy a good meal and listen to the sounds of the wilderness.

Accommodation: Tented Camp – Ndutu
Meals: 1x breakfast, 1x picnic packed lunch, 1x dinner

Good to know:
The name Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word siringit, which means “endless plains”. An apt description when you consider that the entire ecosystem stretches over 30,000 square kilometres! The Serengeti is one of the oldest and scientifically most important ecosystems on earth. It is believed that the weather patterns, fauna and flora have changed very little over the course of a million years, giving the area a prehistoric flavour.

After a hearty breakfast and check-out from the lodge, we set off on an early game drive in the Serengeti. Undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, the Serengeti offers unrivalled natural beauty and an astounding variety of wildlife.
We drive out of the national park to Arusha airport where you take your flight back to Zanzibar in the afternoon.
You will land at Zanzibar airport with a camera full of pictures to share with friends and family to look back on the fantastic memories of your African adventure! Our driver will pick you up and take you back to your hotel.
