Today we begin with a beautiful cultural and nature experience near Mount Kilimanjaro. After breakfast, drive to Materuni Village, located in the foothills of the mountain.

Enjoy a scenic hike through lush tropical vegetation to the stunning Materuni Waterfalls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Kilimanjaro region. Guests may swim in the refreshing natural pool beneath the waterfall.

Afterward, experience a traditional Chagga coffee tour. Learn how local coffee is cultivated, roasted, and prepared from bean to cup while enjoying authentic Tanzanian hospitality.

This day is perfect for team building, acclimatization, and enjoying Tanzania’s natural beauty before the climb begins.

After breakfast, transfer to Marangu Gate, the official starting point of the Kilimanjaro climb.

Following registration and permit procedures, begin trekking through dense rainforest filled with giant trees, exotic plants, colorful birds, and colobus monkeys.

This first trekking day is moderate and allows the body to slowly adapt to the altitude while enjoying the rich biodiversity of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park.

After approximately 4–5 hours of hiking, arrive at Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight stay.

Today the landscape changes dramatically as the rainforest slowly gives way to open moorland and giant lobelia plants.

The trail offers incredible panoramic views across Tanzania and, weather permitting, fantastic views of Kibo Peak.

This stage is longer and more physically demanding, but the steady pace and professional support from the Afrimine Tours mountain team help ensure safe acclimatization.

Arrive at Horombo Hut in the afternoon and enjoy time to rest and adapt to the altitude.

A successful Kilimanjaro summit depends heavily on proper acclimatization. Today is dedicated to altitude adaptation.

Guests will complete an acclimatization hike toward Zebra Rocks or higher elevations before returning to Horombo Hut for rest.

This “climb high, sleep low” strategy significantly improves the body’s adjustment to altitude and increases summit success rates.

The afternoon is free for recovery, hydration, and preparation for the higher mountain zones.

Today’s trek leads through the dramatic alpine desert zone of Kilimanjaro.

Vegetation becomes sparse as the environment transforms into a rugged volcanic landscape between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.

The air becomes thinner, making slow and steady walking essential. The famous Swahili phrase “Pole Pole” (slowly slowly) becomes the key to success.

After approximately 5–6 hours of trekking, arrive at Kibo Hut, the base camp for the summit attempt.

After an early dinner, rest and prepare mentally and physically for the midnight summit climb.
